The Caltech Biotech Club is a student organization that was started with the objective of providing a bridge between the members of the Caltech community interested in biotechnology and those who are actively involved in the industry. The focus of the club is to establish a forum for Caltech students and researchers to explore the world of biotech/pharma together with the help of experienced individuals.

Caltech Biotechnology Club Annual Industry Night (iNight)
Time: April 27th, 4:00 - 7:30PM
Location: Caltech Alumni House and Lees-Kubota Lecture Hall (Buildings 97 and 45 on Caltech Campus Map)

4:00pm- Keynote Panel at Lees-Kubota – Idea to Invention: The Founding of Cleave Biosciences
5:00pm- Walk from Lees-Kubota Lecture Hall to Alumni House
5:10pm- Representatives’ introduction (30 sec each)
5:30pm- Networking event with company representatives (w/ dinner food) and with Cleave Biosciences

The Caltech Biotechnology Club, Office of Tech Transfer and Corporate Partnerships, Innovate Pasadena, and the Entrepreneurship Club are pleased to introduce a new event series: Idea to Innovation. Idea to Innovation will be an ongoing event series with the mission of providing students, faculty, and staff with the resources and connections to bring their ideas to reality.

The first event involves a panel between the founding team of Cleave Biosciences and a Careers in Biotechnology Industry Night. Come learn the story of how Caltech research went from the lab bench to in-human clinical trials. After that, come learn about biotech and bioinformatics careers from a diverse array of 10+ companies.

He is the former CTO of Ambryx (expected to IPO soon for 75+ million) and is now an Executive Director at Celgene with 10+ years of biopharma experience. Dr. Amanda Cashin works at and manages the Illumina Accelerator at Illumnia Inc, a successful 25 billion dollar genomics company. Refreshments will be served.
